A new low for abortion clinics...

Well, I guess I shouldn't call it a new low. Every time I read something about abortion clinics I feel that way. This is almost beyond belief. I have heard the argument that pro-choice people give, and I can understand why they believe what they do, but why would anyone trick or deceive mothers-to-be into killing their child, when that may not have been their intention in the beginning. Is that what they mean by choice...

Morning After Pill Available Without Prescription

Another legalized attack on the pre-born baby has just taken place. Now, women can legally abort their children by going to the local drugstore, without even consulting a doctor.

The debate moves closer...

Well, our friendly neighbors to the north have just reached a new low. Apparently, a court has decided that the government in Quebec is required to completely pay for women's abortions under their government-supplied medicare program. Government-funded murder is a more accurate description of what is being done. Let's just hope and pray that there are enough reasonable people in this country that will stand up for what is right and we will never see this happen here in the United States of America.

Send your letters/Make your Calls

I've sent my e-mail; it's your turn. Please read the note below, from Rock For Life.

The FDA is considering allowing Plan B over the counter for women ages 18 and older. Plan B, which some call emergency contraception, is a dangerous drug that can kill a newly-formed human being while potentially causing serious health risks to women who take it.

It looks like President Bush is our last chance to keep Plan B from being sold over the counter. Please call the White House ASAP. Urge the president to help usher in a culture of life by overriding the potential FDA decision to allow so-called emergency contraception over the counter. Urge the president to stop Plan B!

Contact the White House:

Please forward this action alert to everyone on your email list and ask them to forward it and blog it as well. Thanks!

Should taxpayers pay for inmate abortions?

Below is a link to an article concerning the ongoing debate of how the government should handle pregnancies for inmates. In my opinion, since it's legal to have an abortion, then there is really no way to get around having to transport a patient to a doctor who will do the procedure. Of course, the act itself should be illegal. I agree whole-heartedly that the taxpayers should not pay for the procedure though. This should not be a guaranteed right for an inmate, or anyone...

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The state will appeal a federal court ruling requiring that pregnant inmates be taken to abortion clinics when they request the procedure, Attorney General Jay Nixon said.

Abortion Clinic Surrenders License

By Mike Linn
Montgomery Advertiser

The state has suspended the license of a Montgomery abortion clinic for not having a backup doctor to care for women after they've had the procedure.

The Alabama Department of Health announced Tuesday the suspension of Reproductive Health Services of Montgomery, the second Alabama abortion clinic suspended in the past three months.

Teens Cope With Unwanted Pregnancies Better Than Abortions, Study Shows

Bowling Green, OH (LifeNews.com) -- A new study published in the Journal of Youth and Adolescence refutes a long-standing contention that teenagers are better able to handle an abortion than dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. The study finds that adolescent girls who have an abortion are five times more likely to seek help for psychological and emotional problems...

Complain Less... Give More

I just received an e-mail that seems to put some things in perspective. I know it has nothing to do with abortion, but you could argue that it has everything to do with a Pro-Life stance. Right now, my wife and I are looking for a house. We already have what we need. We have enough rooms for everyone, plus an extra one for our computers, yet there is the need to have more. The house isn't in the most respected area of town, but it's a nice neighborhood. Yet, it's amazing to think that we're looking at houses that are 3 times the price of our current house. Many in other countries would consider our current house to be a mansion. We even had a girl selling door-to-door recently who was amazed that we were able to have a house that nice when we were so young. And we're looking to upgrade! Why do we do it? It's our culture; it's how we were raised. I feel like I can somewhat justify the need to move because I expect my family to grow and in this country, most children have their own rooms. I feel that I should give my family the best, while at the same time teaching them to give to those less fortunate.

I'll let the pictures below give the more powerful part of my talk. They may be hard to look at and they may not even be grammatically correct, but they are powerful.

Thank God for little girls

Today, I'm sitting in my office thinking of what to write as my 8 month old little girl sits playing happily on the floor. Though at times, she's difficult to handle (right now she's emptying the trash can), I can't imagine life without her. My life has changed dramatically since she was born. I don't have nearly as much time to myself, and I don't get to go out and do as much as I used to. But guess what, I wouldn't give her back, even if I could.

There is just something about knowing that you helped create a person, who is going to grow up and become an adult. There is something about knowing that you are going to teach her almost everything that she knows and that she's going to grow up to be a lot like you. It's a huge responsibility and it's something very serious and should not be taken lightly. Based upon the way that I see many children act, it seems that many parents don't understand the severity of this responsibility. If only they could see their children all grown up, maybe, just maybe, they would give some serious thought to how they treat them.

Actually, I wonder if they would. I've seen this show recently, "Honey We're Killing the Kids" where they use computer generated pictures to show parents what their kids will look like when they're 40 if they continue eating and taking care of themselves the way that they currently are. The parents are always shocked and amazed at what they see. Why? People can't easily visualize the results of their actions long-term (or don't want to). I wonder how many of these families go back to exactly the way they were a month after the show. I'm sure the percentage is high. It's just like any other habit or addiction. A person telling you that it's wrong and a week of trying is just not enough to break most habits. It's more a matter of the way that the parents were raised and the ruts that they have fallen into.

The more you think about it, the more you realize that EVERY decision that you make, regarding yourself or they way you interact with your children will have an eternal effect on their lives. So take life seriously, but never stop having fun.
