Should taxpayers pay for inmate abortions?

Below is a link to an article concerning the ongoing debate of how the government should handle pregnancies for inmates. In my opinion, since it's legal to have an abortion, then there is really no way to get around having to transport a patient to a doctor who will do the procedure. Of course, the act itself should be illegal. I agree whole-heartedly that the taxpayers should not pay for the procedure though. This should not be a guaranteed right for an inmate, or anyone...

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The state will appeal a federal court ruling requiring that pregnant inmates be taken to abortion clinics when they request the procedure, Attorney General Jay Nixon said.
